During the campaign, Ragusa supported message development, communications strategy, and earned media efforts, helping articulate Helena’s record, values, and vision for New Orleans to voters across the city.
Following the election, Ragusa played a central role in the transition and inauguration period, serving as Executive Producer for the Mayor’s Inauguration Mass, Day of Service, and Inauguration Ceremony. Our work included high-level event strategy, messaging and narrative development, coordination with city leadership and community partners, and full day-of execution. Each event was designed to reflect the priorities of the incoming administration and create meaningful civic moments that connected leadership, service, and community.
About Mayor Moreno
Helena Moreno has built her career fighting on behalf of the people of New Orleans to create a safer, more affordable, and more equitable city. She has been a leading voice for accountability in government, health care as a right, fair wages for working families, strong climate action, and the protection and expansion of civil and voting rights.
Helena began her career as an award-winning investigative reporter for NBC affiliate WDSU-TV, where she was part of an Emmy Award–winning team covering Hurricane Katrina. Her reporting frequently exposed systemic failures and inequities, ultimately motivating her to move from journalism into public service.
In 2010, Helena was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives, and in 2017, she was elected to the New Orleans City Council. There, she earned a reputation as a tireless and effective advocate for residents citywide. In 2021, voters overwhelmingly endorsed her leadership—re-electing her with 85% of the vote and carrying every precinct in New Orleans.
Now serving as Mayor, Helena Moreno brings the same commitment to transparency, equity, and results to leading the city forward.
